A number of Medical Royal Colleges have Digital Health or Information Technology in their specialist training curricula, but they are not taught formally. The assumption is that these skills are innate in the next generation of doctors. We disagree, and our intent with this course is to bring together a number of topics such as:
Digital Health Records
Cybersecurity, Information Governance and Confidentiality
Mobile Healthcare and Telecare
Controlled Terminologies
Quality and Outcome Measures
Electronic Medicines Management
Big Data and AI in Healthcare
We aim to build a formal syllabus and to keep it up to date as the contribution of Digital Health/Health Informatics to the NHS grows and evolves.
